Virtual interview with a retired captain, about 2 hours total. They asked about recent flight hours and yearly minimums. HR portion covered background, motivation, and instructing experience. Technical was rapid-fire: high-altitude aerodynamics, electrical systems, pneumatics, and V-speeds.

Interview questions were tailored to my application, followed by behavioral and situational scenarios. Personality assessment after the interview. Waited a few hours for results — some candidates were released, then hiring manager came out with offer packets.

Very conversational format — they want personality, not scripted answers. Panel was a chief pilot plus HR. They care deeply about company culture fit and knowing their core values. One candidate was dismissed over sloppy paperwork.

Interview at company HQ. Three parts: HR behavioral, technical oral, and sim evaluation. Heavy on Part 135 weather minimums, duty and rest regulations, and client interaction scenarios. Sim was standard profiles — just fly precise.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What airlines does Vectors to Hired cover?

We cover 55 operators across every segment: all major airlines (Delta, United, American, Southwest, Alaska, JetBlue, Hawaiian), cargo carriers (FedEx, UPS, Atlas, Kalitta), all major regionals (SkyWest, Republic, Endeavor, PSA, Envoy, GoJet, Horizon, Mesa, Piedmont), ULCCs (Frontier, Spirit, Allegiant, Breeze, Avelo, Sun Country), and Part 135 operators (NetJets, Flexjet, JSX, Vista, Wheels Up, Tradewind, and 15 more).

How does the Voice Coach work?

Tap the microphone, speak your answer like you would in a real interview, and our coaching engine evaluates it across 5 dimensions: completeness, specificity, aviation relevance, delivery structure, and red flags. You get a score from 1-5 with specific feedback on what to improve and a model answer outline.

What checkrides are included?

Eight FAA checkrides: Private Pilot (PPL), Instrument Rating (IR), Commercial Pilot (CPL), Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Instrument Instructor (CFII), Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI), Multi-Engine Rating (ME), and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP). Each includes knowledge questions and scenario-based DPE oral exam practice.

Is the interview gouge real?

Yes. Every gouge entry comes from a real pilot interview experience. We collect reports from aviation interview sites and pilot forums, and pilots can submit their own experiences directly through the app. All gouge is dated so you know how current the intel is.

Can I use this on my phone?

Absolutely. Vectors to Hired is fully responsive and works on any device. The Voice Coach uses your phone's microphone for speech-to-text, making it perfect for practicing on the go between flights.

How is this different from AviationInterviews.com?

AviationInterviews is great for reading gouge. Vectors to Hired is an active study tool: coaching that evaluates your spoken answers, spaced-repetition flashcards that track mastery, checkride oral prep, and mock interview simulations. Think of it as the difference between reading about interviews and actually practicing for them.
