Tips

  • If you get the call, the job is yours to lose - flight department is very pro-applicant
  • A recommendation from someone inside is really helpful
  • You will know if you are hired or not before you go home from the interview
  • Interviews are on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday - call on Mondays to set up
  • Hiring into both DC-10 and 757/767
  • High acceptance rate - in one week, 4 of 5 interviewed were invited to class
  • Complete OE before resigning from prior employer - under AQP the type rating is not validated until IOE and final line check are complete
  • You can bypass one training date, but must take the second or you're out of the pool for a year

Interview Experience

Interviewed at Omni Air and got hired on the spot, they handed me a disc with FCOMs to start studying. Another guy in my group got offered a slot but had a 3-4 month wait for class. The flight department is all pilots and if they called you in, they want you there. In my week 4 out of 5 got invited to class. Hiring into both the DC-10 and 757/767. You know before you leave the building if you're in.
