What to Expect at Your NetJets Interview

The NetJets interview process typically begins with a phone screen before advancing to a panel interview focused heavily on TMAAT (Tell Me About A Time) behavioral questions and service-oriented scenarios that reflect the company\'s owner-focused culture. Expect probing questions about confidentiality, professionalism, and how you\'ve handled high-pressure situations in the cockpit and with passengers. Company-specific questions about NetJets\' global operations, fractional model, and culture are common differentiators between candidates.

  • Tell me about a time involving safety
  • Walk me through your resume and previous flying experience

Technical Questions

  • No technical questions in the sit-down interview

Company Questions

  • Why NetJets?
  • Why is this your career destination and not a stepping stone?

Tips

  • Use aviationinterviews.com to prepare
  • Practice the exact callouts from the sim packet with a friend - they are very particular on using the exact verbiage, no more no less
  • Do not add your own personal callouts
  • Meet your sim partner the night before and go over callouts together
  • Prepare TMAAT stories about safety and customer service
  • Think like a customer service representative when answering questions
  • Convey that this is a career destination and not a stepping stone
  • If you made it this far you are 90% there - just show you can hand fly an ILS approach
  • Be prepared for touchy FTD controls with no motion

Interview Experience

Applied online, did a Teams screening and phone screen, then went to Columbus for the in-person. Sim eval was at FlightSafety in an FTD, no motion. Profile had a departure with a level-off and speed restriction, steep turns, and an ILS. The sit-down was 1-on-1 at a hotel nearby with either an HR rep or a retired pilot, super laid back. No tech questions at all in the interview portion, just resume walkthrough and customer service TMAAT stuff. They checked my logbook for ATP eligibility. Benefits and ops presentations after. Got the call about a week or two later with the CJO.

Behavioral Questions

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Multiple tell-me-about-a-time questions focused on safety
  • Tell-me-about-a-time questions focused on customer service

Technical Questions

  • Basic technical questions appropriate for pilots with several thousand hours experience
  • Approach plate briefing and explanation

Company Questions

  • What do you think a NetJets owner wants during a flight
  • Questions about providing exceptional customer experience that differentiates NetJets from other private aviation

Tips

  • Focus heavily on safety and customer service themes
  • Prepare for standard tell-me-about-a-time behavioral questions
  • Be ready to brief an approach plate thoroughly
  • Understand NetJets' emphasis on exceptional customer experience
  • Technical questions are basic level for experienced pilots

Interview Experience

NetJets video interview is the second stage after the phone screen, before the Columbus sim eval. Senior captain and HR rep take turns. Starts with tell-me-about-yourself, then TMAAT questions heavy on safety and customer service scenarios. You brief an approach plate and answer some basic tech questions. They really want to know you understand the customer service piece and what sets NetJets apart from other Part 135 ops. Relaxed conversational tone. Pass this and you go to Columbus for the hiring event.

Behavioral Questions

  • Tell me about a time situations
  • Why do you want to work for NetJets

Technical Questions

  • Brief an instrument approach procedure

Company Questions

  • Questions about resume and background
  • Discussion of logbook entries and any discrepancies

Tips

  • Maintain professional appearance throughout the process
  • Understand that the job involves customer service as much as flying
  • Be prepared to explain any issues in your logbook thoroughly
  • First phone interview is basic screening
  • By the time you reach Columbus, the job is yours to lose

Interview Experience

NetJets is three stages. Phone screen first with an HR contractor, pretty basic behavioral stuff and why NetJets. Then a video interview (Skype or similar) that gets more technical with TMAAT questions, approach briefings, and a deep resume dive. If you make it past both of those they fly you to Columbus for the final round: logbook review, sim eval, and a sit-down with upper management. The sim is about showing you can fly a jet safely, not perfection. They really push the customer service angle. If you get to Columbus you're in good shape since the phone rounds already filtered most people out.
